Anti-Ragging Cell
In accordance with the UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009, the Anti-Ragging Cell of Sibani Mandal Mahavidyalaya is committed to creating a safe and inclusive campus. The Cell works proactively to prevent and address all forms of ragging through the following objectives:
To Ensure a Ragging-Free Campus Environment
To protect the fundamental rights and dignity of students by strictly prohibiting ragging in any form and ensuring a secure, respectful, and inclusive academic environment.
To Create Awareness Among Students Regarding Anti-Ragging Laws and Policies
To conduct awareness programs, induction sessions, and publicity campaigns informing students about the legal consequences of ragging and the support systems available to them.
To Establish a Confidential Mechanism for Reporting and Redressal
To provide accessible and anonymous channels for students to report ragging incidents, ensuring full confidentiality and protection of complainants from victimization.
To Investigate and Act Upon Complaints Promptly and Fairly
To form inquiry committees as per UGC norms and initiate disciplinary action against offenders without delay, ensuring justice and institutional transparency.
To Foster a Culture of Respect, Peer Support, and Integration
To promote positive student interaction through mentorship programs, peer-group bonding activities, and counseling support, especially aiding first-generation learners in adjusting to college life.
Note:
Ragging is a punishable offence under the Indian Penal Code and as per UGC regulations. Any student found guilty of ragging shall face disciplinary action, which may include suspension, expulsion, or legal prosecution, depending on the severity of the act.
