The Department of Sanskrit of Sibani Mandal Mahavidyalaya, affiliated to the University of Calcutta, was established in 2015 at Namkhana, South 24 Parganas. From its beginning, the department has been committed to imparting the values of Sanskrit language, literature, philosophy, and culture.
The department offers both Sanskrit as Major and Sanskrit as MDC (Multidisciplinary Course), giving students broad opportunities to explore the subject. Along with traditional learning, special emphasis is given on Yoga and Spoken Sanskrit, so that learners not only understand the texts but also experience Sanskrit as a living language and as a way of life.
Students of the department have consistently achieved excellent academic results. This success is built on the strong bond of harmony between teachers and students, which creates an inspiring academic environment filled with discipline, respect, and cultural values.
