The Department of Geography at Sibani Mandal Mahavidyalaya was established in 2015 with the introduction of the General Course, followed by the Honours Course in 2016. Since its inception, the department has been committed to providing quality education that combines theoretical knowledge with practical skills.

Located in Namkhana, South 24 Parganas, the department benefits from the unique geographical setting of the coastal region, offering students an opportunity to explore diverse landscapes, ecosystems, and socio-economic patterns through both classroom learning and field studies.

With a dedicated team of faculty members, the department emphasizes hands-on learning through field surveys, map interpretation, GIS applications, and environmental studies. The aim is to equip students with both academic excellence and practical expertise, preparing them for higher studies as well as various professional careers.
